Many consider Marcel Breuer the designer of the first modern lounge chair in 1928. Although his designs were sculptural in nature, most of his designs were rigid and employed materials like metal, wire and bent wood. Eventually, ergonomics came into play and comfort became paramount. It was in 1956 that Charles and Ray Eames introduced the iconic Eames Lounge and Ottoman, and comfort had never been so stylish. The Cass Chair has a modern, exposed wood frame with rounded arms flowing into rounded back corners, with loose T-cushion seat over an exposed base frame raised on square, tapered legs. This silhouette has a visual lightness with ultimate comfort.
