Jacques Garcia designed the Katoucha series in homage to the late French model, writer, and activist. The form is a celebration of the circle – with proportion trumping ornament. The horizontal texture is a scratchwork pattern from jewelry. That motif appears on the base, and it reinforces the idea of a single concentric sculpture barely interrupted by the glass. The Katoucha is a simple solution for a large round table. The form, finish, and minimal ornament mix easily with other designer collections. The glass top also reduces both the formality and the maintenance. As with Katoucha herself, there is a great elegance to the form, and the footprint is small. Standard with a detachable lazy susan.
